Hinduism Conference 2009

This year the Annual Hinduism Conference is hosted by our Ladysmith branch, scheduled on Sunday, 6th September, 2009.  The theme is Hindu Families – Challenges and Solutions. It is no doubt interesting but also topical. Dr Aruna Chetty, Director of Phoenix Child and Family Welfare Society will deliver a paper on ‘Creating Security and Family Stability’. Brother Swami Saradaprabhanandaji will speak on ‘Reconciling Religious Conflicts in a Family’. The Third paper will be presented by Veena Singaram on ‘Leadership Qualities and Responsibility of the Mother’.  Advocate H Kessie Naidu SC will present the Fourth paper on ‘Balancing Hindu Values with Westernisation’.

Panel Discussion and Questions session will be conducted by Dr Behariram and Rakhi Beekrum. The Inaugural Address will of course by me. The Opening Prayer will be lead by Sister Pravrajika Ishtapranaji of Sri Sarada Devi Ashram, Asherville. I shall try to present a Report later on the proceedings of this prestigious Conference.

  1. Param Pujaniya Maharaj ji,
So thrilled to read your programme of the Hindu Conference 2009 to be held at Ladysmith Sub centre. I hope to be in the Conference in spirit and inspire myself with your report on the proceedings of the Conference.

  2. Pranam from Hariharan,
The moment I saw your invitation in the last month self wondered how much enthusiasm the people in Africa have, the one we find it lacking in our Motherland, the cradle of Hinduism!
Now, when I go through the reports from the youth devotee, I am stunned and feel sorry why and how we all miss it here in India. The three aspects of the Hindu family stressed by the Swami reminds me of Sri Sri Prabhu Maharaj’s Spiritual ideals…etc. In fact Maharaj wants the parents to set a model for their children to imitate or even emulate.
Swami Vimokshanandaji has gently underlined the same view succinctly.
with love and pranam to you and Hats off to every one the organizers, speakers, volunteers and reporters,

      Dear Hariharan
To my knowledge, there are many discourses and seminars held at the Math/Mission centres throughout India. Please go to Belur Math website and you will be able to get the required info.
Here, Youth programs are held on a weekly basis at all Sub Centres carrying out Swamiji’s message “Service to man is Service to God”. When I interact with the youth, I am amazed at their devotion to Thakur, Ma and Swamiji. If it is possible to emphasize then the need and the importance of Spiritual education to our youth gains paramount significance.
Try and mould your life and the lives of our children according to the directives of our scriptures.
I pray and hope by His Grace that someday you will be able to come and partake in programs held here. Take refuge in Him, with His Grace your life will be blessed!

  3. Revered maharaj
I was awe-struck by the enthusisam from our Hindu settlers in Africa. Know very well about conferences and seminars but they have not reflected so much of enthusiasm from devotees, they are mostly for pundits. Hence my surprise!
Sri Thakur willing and if you bless me then self may come there to take part in all classes.
    once again, Pranam!

      Dear Hariharan
Yes, now I understand your surprise! Thanks for making it clear.
Yes, I wish that you visit here. Given the extreme usefulness of your seva there, no one would like to leave you for SA, it seems! But we shall await Master’s Will !
