    Just finished reading “Singa Speaks-Roar 11”.
    Enjoyed reading about your visits to the various temples in and around Malacca. I have yet to visit these temples.
    I look forward to Singa Roar and relish all the articles therein.
    It’s a form of virtual satsang for me.

    Hearty pranam and namaskar to you.
    I was delighted to receive Roar 11. It was so good I printed it out. This is just what we need: well-written, illustrated reports of the activities of different centers. This will inspire the devotees.
    It’s nice to see that little groups devoted to Thakur are springing up all over Malaysia. I got a taste of this in 2010, when I visited the Penang center and some of us drove over into mainland Malaysia and visited a little village way out in the jungle where they had a small temple and were holding a satsang. I wonder if you know Dr. Das, a very knowledgeable and dedicated devotee in Penang.
    Regarding Singa Roar (a nice poetic pun–“Singa Roar from Singapore”!), if I may make one suggestion, it might be a good idea to add captions to some of the photos. Many photos may not need captions, but for others, captions would be useful.
    For instance, on p. 5, it might be good to identify the five people seated in the background. I recognize you as the fourth person from the left, but the others might be identified on a left-to right basis. The photo at the bottom of the page doesn’t need a caption: it obviously shows the audience.
    Please keep sending future Roars – they are greatly appreciated. You may want to give some thought to integrating them with Nirvana magazine – maybe print the highlights in the magazine. The cost of printing all the Roars in their entirety would probably be prohibitive.

      Indeed grateful to you for your words of appreciation and encouragement! Hope all the devotees in Bangkok are doing well. I saw a few of them in the Monthly Skype Class conducted on every first Sunday. I could not spot you in the last class.
      What you witnessed in Malaysia way back in 2010 is true today also. There are any number of small groups dedicated to Sri Thakur, Holy Mother and Swamiji. The present official Head of Kuala Lumpur Centre Swami Supriyananda is a dynamic monk who all alone tends to keep the devotees in line with the traditions of Ramakrishna Mission. He is working hard. Yes, I do know Dr Das who is a pivot for the Penang centre. Being a long-standing devotee he, though aged, takes a keen interest in the spread of Ramakrishna-Vedanta ideas.
      The layout of the Newsletter is an in-house project in which I am deeply interested too. I use Apple’s Pages Application that is well suited for this purpose. The captions, if separately added, take more space that results in cutting down the text. Hence, I was avoiding the Captions so far. Yes, I take your suggestion that photos need captions. I was of the view that those who read the text would normally be able to connect to those photos, especially of the natural scenery. But, as you say, there may be problems in identifying persons in the photo. Okay, I shall attempt to place captions.
      Your another idea of integrating with Nirvana magazine is already implemented. The Newsletters are topical and hence, can have lots of details about the events. Nirvana is quarterly and has limitations of 5 Pages only for the News & Notes. What I do now is to give a concise writing of the events in Nirvana, duly culled from the Singa Roars selectively. I think that makes me avoid repetitions as both Nirvana and Singa Roars are sent to the same number of devotees!
      Singa Roars are definitely NOT for printing in any form. It is meant and designed to be a digital diary only. Whoever has got an email would be able to get it. But Nirvana is a printed magazine and it is circulated free of cost. Its reach is small compared to Newsletters.
      May Sri Sri Thakur keep you healthy as many more articles from your fingers are needed for this world!
