Om Namo Narayanaya
Most Revered Maharaj
It must have been God’s grace that compelled all attendees to be present on the Tuesday satsang at the Ladysmith sub-centre.
Knowing that Revered Maharaj was going to deliver an address on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Raja Maharaj was added incentive to attend. Each time I listen to Revered Maharaj’s talks, I am convinced that it is the best I had yet heard. Oddly enough, Maharaj succeeds in surpassing the previous talk each and every time!
The poetic comparison between Swami Vivekananda and Raja Maharaj, with which Revered Maharaj introduced His address, was immediately captivating. Swami Vivekananda is to Raja Maharaj as the blazing sun is to the cooling moon; and the roar of waves is to a stream. While focusing on the similarities and differences between these spiritual heroes, Revered Maharaj was able to highlight the incredible uniqueness and greatness of both.
Because of the occasion being observed, Revered Maharaj naturally dwelt more on narrating anecdotes about Raja Maharaj. I was completely enchanted by the way in which the Divine Mother appeared to Maharaj; as well as the gentle and miraculous way in which Raja Maharaj, without uttering a single word, brought about change in the ashram that was experiencing difficulties. Revered Maharaj’s explanation of what Karma Yoga truly is, was certainly thought-provoking. The lessons to be derived from Raja Maharaj’s teachings for present day officials of organizations can be very helpful especially when differences among individuals arise, as they inevitably do. Interspersed with the right dose of humour throughout the address, it finally felt like Maharaj had brought Raja Maharaj to life for those of us who make His acquaintance merely through books.

Dear Nirmala
Sorry for the belated acknowledgement!
It was a happy occasion to be with the devotees in Ladysmith once again. To speak about my Guru’s Guru is always a matter of joy. I am glad that you enjoyed my Talks on Raja Maharaj.
May Guru kripa be ever on you is my prayer!

Aum Namo Narayanaya Maharaj
My humble pranam at your holy feet.
Thank You Maharaj for the enlightening discourse as so aptly described above by Sister Nirmala. You never fail to grip our attention at such moments and by Master’s grace you covered so much more than Sri Swami Brahmanandaji‘s life and teachings, as one would have expected. You took these two aspects to an immeasurable height by relating His life’s experiences and incidents to our daily lives and thereby educating us on where we can improve in our quest for spiritual Self-betterment! Such regular “injection” of spiritualiity is much needed and appreciated.
I look forward to our next meeting. Best wishes for your Gauteng visit! Your children await You!

Dear Nerie
Definitely these types of ‘injections’ are required not only to the listeners but also to the speakers. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to speak on my Guru’s Guru.
My trip to Johannesburg went off well. And yes, your children met me. It was again a wonderful occasion to speak to everyone through the Vedanta Retreat.
May Guru kripa be ever on you is my prayer!
