  1. World got enriched by the arrival of SWAMIJI on this day in 1863 which was makara sankranthi.
A real Ujjvala Bhaskara arose in spiritual horizon of the world.

      Dear Maharaj
      Indeed rightly said!
“Moorta maheshwara…– the song on Swamiji, penned so lovingly by Swamiji’s disciple has been haunting me with its loaded meaning…each word is a treat and stimulus for our mind.
May the auspicious occasion of Swamiji‘s birthday ignite the spirit of Swamiji in everyone!

  2. Revered and dear Maharaj,
Please accept my pranam. Many thanks for sharing reverential tributes to Swamiji of some of the outstanding leaders of India. After going through them, I have been reflecting on the same since morning.
Subhash Chandra Bose‘s observation that ‘he was a yogi of the highest spiritual level, in direct communion with truth‘ tries to portray Swamiji‘s spiritual immensity to some extent. I wonder whether it is possible at all by anybody except the Great Master/Mother to gauge his depth. Didn’t Swamiji himself mutter, “Had another Vivekananda been there, he would have understood what this Vivekananda had done…” startling Baburam Maharaj who was nearby. Perhaps, the lines beginning with ‘asita giri samam…‘ in Shiva Mahima stotram is applicable to Swamiji too, he being the incarnation of Shiva. One Tamil song on Swamiji comes to my mind:

    Aanmai urukkonda anthanan
    Engal annal Vivekanandanin
    Maanbai alavida enninaal
    Mannaiyum vinnaiyum pannalaam

Rajaji made his wonderful observations, if I am correct, during Swamiji‘s birth centenary celebrations in 1963. As you be aware that he was fortunate, as a young college student, to be blessed by Swamiji during the latter’s stay in Ice house on his return from the West.
In fact, only Rajaji and of course Tagore had seen Swamiji physically. It was Gandhiji‘s bad luck that he could not see Swamiji when he went to Belur Math in 1900 as Swamiji was very ill at that time.
Most Revered Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj often used to quote Tagore‘s words, “if you want to know India, study Vivekananda; in him everything is positive and nothing negative.”
I feel tempted to reproduce what Josephine Macleod has penned in her reminiscences:

“The thing that held me in Swamiji was his unlimitedness. I never could touch the bottom-or top-or sides of him. The amazing size of him…..”

Please bless me so that I may be filled with the boldness of Swamiji.
    With pranam once again,

  3. “If he had been alive, I would have been at his feet?
Doesn’t matter and no matter, we are at his feet!
In one of his final words he said “Whoever worships me anywhere and in any form, I’ll be met with”
    Indelible indeed!
