This Blog began its journey on 23rd January, 2008. I used to scribble down some of my experiences with persons, situations etc and called it a Personal Diary. Then I thought why not submit these Posts for Public Consumption? Thus, the Blog was born and 326,077 times this Blog has been browsed so far…
It has a wide readership from all corners of the world. I find this digital medium can be really helpful for those who desire, due to the paucity of time in their busy work-a-day schedule, to keep a sustaining e-Satsang.
I encourage people – many of them I do not know at all – to participate in the Comments section so that our e-Conversations go on fruitfully. Some jocularly remark that the Comments section is more interesting than the original Post!

Due to the ‘cocooning’ rules during these trying times, I lost valuable time in picking up Éire Language. Thanks to you for your teaching Irish with wonderful patience and in a systematic manner without the inclusion of the much feared Grammar! I hope all will return to normalcy in a few days and I shall again get a learning opportunity from you by the grace of Master!

Yes, it indeed is a great blessing! As Acharya Shankara says in his famous scripture Vivekachudamani,
durlabham trayamevaitad devanugrahahetukam |
manushyatvam mumukshatvam mahapurusha samshrayaha || 3||
These are the three things which are rare indeed and are due to the grace of God – namely, a human birth, the longing for Liberation, and the protecting care of a perfected sage.

When you were in Singapore, I missed some of your Bhagavad Gita classes. I would not have missed, if I had known that in the future, you would be going on transfer to some other country.
But now, I am listening to more of your Talks because you are uploading every talk that is given.
Swamiji! recently I finished reading the book, “The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna”.
Swamiji, can you please suggest authors of “Bhagavad Geeta” and “Srimad Bhagavatam” from our Mission… and also suggest some of the books to read.

Glad to note that you are keen on listening to my Talks! They are delivered regularly on Saturdays and Sundays via YouTube Channel at 5:30 PM Irish Time. On Saturdays, the Readings & Reflections are from the Life of Holy Mother and on Sundays, the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. Here, Bhagawad Gita classes are conducted from even before my arrival, by my brother monk Swami Purnananda. His classes are scheduled on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM Irish Time. All the timings are indeed not suitable for South-East Asian countries because of its midnight period for you all. However, all the Talks are recorded live and stored under the Eire Vedanta Society YouTube Channel. If anyone subscribes to that Channel, then that person will be duly intimated of all the uploads instantly.
Well, “Ekalvya shishya” is a gratifying term no doubt, but you must remember the heavy price that Ekalavya had to pay finally!!!
Thanks for enquiring about two books! There are of course many books in different languages available from our Publishing Centres in India. I presume you would like to read in English, then Srimad Bhagawad Gita translated by late Swami Chidbhavananda is the book that I would recommend. The reason is that this book contains the original verses of the Gita in Sanskrit, and followed by English Transliteration, word by word meaning and a detailed commentary. The uniqueness of this book lies in his including relevant Teachings of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna. This book is published by Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam, Tamil Nadu.
On Srimad Bhagawatam, I would unhesitatingly recommend the book written by Late Swami Tapasyananda. He was an erudite scholar and highly austere as per his name. His introduction in each volume and the lucid translation can captivate anyone. This book in 4 Volumes are published from our Chennai Sri Ramakrishna Math Centre.
Of course, both the books may be available at our Singapore Centre where you can make a phone call enquiry.
Now you have given a complete reading of The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, start as a spiritual practice daily by reading two/three pages a day from the beginning of this book. And stay for 5 minutes quietly thinking about what you just now read. That way it will be an enduring sadhana.
